STUDY ABROAD
1985 Independent Study in Europe: France/Holland/Belgium Research; The main purpose for this experience came out of the need to investigate and to learn more about other cultures. I’m particularly interested in experiencing the way artists live and survive in Europe. I also visited galleries and museums with other artists. I completed art work while studying at the Paris Academy.
1981 Independent Study in Africa: The Gambia/Senegal/Mali Study Abroad: The purpose for this study was to enlighten myself on Africa and to explore African motifs. My work at the time reflected the forms and symbols of Africa art and artifacts.
